I kind of hate the title of the video because it sets up this automatic binary where “American” equals someone who can’t speak Mandarin. I know it’s unintentional but this automatic way of thinking is part of the reason Asian-American people constantly get asked “where are you from?” and its inevitable follow up “no, where are you REALLY from?”. I would have gone with “Can someone who only speaks English follow a recipe in Mandarin?” Plenty of Americans who are natively bilingual.
i will now only use this method of teaching as an excuse to get free food 😌
I appreciate this. Watching ppl learn to cook on other languages.

I’m learning Mandarin at the moment and this video actually helps me learn certain foods lol
I admire those that can speak more than one language! I am so jelly!
Yummy food😋
Is Jasmine Korean-Chinese? I ask because she has a Korean last name and the recipe is a Korean dish, but she speaks Mandarin.
