That original recipe looks terrible. It’s in such a wrong order. I’d cook salmon in clarified butter first, set aside when done. Then in the same pan onion, garlic, tomoatoe, spinach in that order. Then a fish or beef stock, then cream, then cheese(parmesan), and season salt pepper to taste, and warm salmon back up in the sauce. Cooking the spinach that early, and the tomatoes that late is such a sin, because you want to blister the tomatoes and cook the bitterness out, and just barely wilt the spinach.
maybe with the two types of cheeze and already put salt and pepper on before grilling the salmon at the start there was no need to add salt when cooking the other ingedients

Great easy recipe! Kinda like a pontchartrain sauce but with Parmesan.
